Adam and Eve leaving Eden as a divine hand gestures for them to depart, looking back at the gate closing behind them with cherubim and flaming sword guarding the Tree of LIFE

Long ago, Adam and Eve had to leave the Garden.
Since then, people couldn’t reach the Tree of Life.

But now, God says, “It’s time to begin again.”
He is getting the Tree of Life ready.
He is sending the Holy Spirit to join with us—
in a real body, just like ours.

God is bringing together the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit,
and people like you and me—
so we can be close to Him again, forever.

Leafless Tree of LIFE with open book and candlelit path, symbolizing God’s promise of renewal

In our opening, we learn that mankind had lost access to the Tree of LIFE
and now God has a plan to restore our relationship with him.
God speaks to the tree and assures it that
it will bear fruit again very soon.

Jesus in the Spirit standing before the Tree of LIFE, preparing to begin the journey in Mary’s womb

Jesus waits in Heaven in spirit.
He stands with the Tree of LIFE.
God asks if Jesus is ready to be born on Earth.
Jesus says “Yes, I am ready.
Plant the seeds of the fruit of your spirit inside me.”
Our journey tells stories of each of the seeds being planted in Jesus on his way to be born in Bethlehem.

Joy’s not Lost, it’s waiting still, beneath the weight, beneath the will.
A fig tree planted by a peaceful stream, producing abundant fruit in its season with hills and sun in the background

The caravan stopped for the night.
The beautiful scene of the fig tree near the bank of a gentle stream, with lots of figs made them remember Psalm 1.
They agreed that Jesus would be like the tree planted by rivers of water and would produce fruit in his time and his fruit would be for everyone.

Mary reclines against Joseph as a little lamb curls up on her lap beside the shepherd within her; a peaceful stream flows nearby and the moon rises over the hills

Joseph laid out a blanket. Then he covered Mary in another blanket. He sat back against a fig tree and Mary leaned against him.
A little lamb sensed the shepherd that was growing in Mary and wandered down to be close. The little lamb curled in Mary’s lap with his little head resting on Mary’s tummy.

A children’s lullaby of peace and grace from Star of Bethlehem: A Fruitful Journey (Kids).
A woman pauses to ask how Joseph, Mary, and their donkey are doing on the hot, rocky path

After morning blessings under a fig tree with birdsongs serenading them, it was time to resume their sacred journey. Mary walked beside Joseph and their faithful donkey, but after awhile she mounted the donkey. The donkey’s stride rocked Mary from side to side, as they travelled an uneven trail. The sun was rising over the open country side and Mary could feel Jesus becoming uneasy.

A boy runs ahead to stop the caravan so Mary and her child can rest; travelers walk through hills as the sun beams overhead

Joseph offered food and water in attempt to comfort Mary, but she only nodded, “No, thank you”. A compassionate woman saw Mary’s distress and told her husband that Mary needed rest for her and her child. The woman’s husband sent their son to run ahead telling everyone up to the caravan leader that Mary and her child are in need of rest. Their son accepted his mission and Joyfully ran to share the message.

A group of caring women gather around Mary and her child beneath fruit trees, as cloud cover cools the air and a pond appears in lush pasture

Everyone had compassion for Mary and Jesus and so the caravan stopped. As they stopped, clouds rolled in providing shade to cool the trail and a pond of still, cool water appeared surrounded by lush grasses for the animals. Everyone recognized this as God’s reward to them for their Patience with His servants.

As the caravan prepares to move, a cantor raises her voice in blessing and the travelers join in song

A glorious sunrise decorates the county side and the travelers prepare to continue their journey. A woman song leader lifts up her voice in a blessing on the day’s travel and everyone joins in.

A donkey pulling a cart slips on dew-covered stones as the driver gently signals with the reins to slow down

Along the way, a small donkey’s hooves are slipping on the dew covered stones. They slow down to make it easier for the donkey and travel onward. After awhile the little donkey gently brays. The girl asks her father to pause, so she can talk to their donkey. She notices a sore, where his blanket had slipped. Her little brother excitedly jumps down with salve to help care for Balaam, their donkey.

A family sings a blessing of healing over their donkey Balaam as they travel through the hills

After rubbing salve on Balaam’s sore, they adjusted his blanket to protect him from pain. The little brother expresses thanks and love for Balaam and Joyfully shouts “Let’s sing a blessing of healing over our friend Balaam”. They continue walking with brother and sister walking beside their beloved companion and singing gleefully.

A family gathers under a tree for breakfast, each person having contributed to the morning meal

A family traveling in the caravan shares a meal under a fig tree. Grandma spreads her favorite blanket that her mother made for her, as a child. The boy recites the blessings over the food and drink. Everyone helps with their morning preparations.

A granddaughter kneels by a stream, washing grandma’s blanket with smooth rocks and lavender, noticing a separated hem she plans to mend

The girl tells grandma, she will gather up her blanket for her. She notices figs smashed on the backside and goes to wash it in the nearby stream. She rubs lavender on it for fragrance and while washing grandma’s blanket, she notices where the hem had separated and decided to mend it secretly, as they continue their journey.

A grandson hands grandma her blanket as the wagon enters a shaded valley; she feels warmth and lavender, reflecting on her childhood while her granddaughter quietly smiles

As they traveled into a shaded valley, grandmother began to feel chilled, so her grandson handed her blanket to her. The hem being stitched, prevented the breeze from cooling her shoulder and the warmth of her body made the fragrance of lavender rise. Grandma remembered the comfort of her blanket, when she was a child. She smiled, as she drifted into a peaceful sleep, thinking of her mother’s love.

A boy and girl stand smiling in a lush jungle surrounded by animals, symbolizing Adam naming the creatures

As Mary and Joseph walk the trail leading to Bethlehem to be a part of prophesy being fulfilled, they begin to reflect on the lineage of faithfulness that has lead to this day.
It all began with Adam being placed in charge of the Garden of Eden. Adam was told to name every creature and God made Eve to be his partner. Adam and Eve started a family that grew really big.
Some things went wrong and God made a long term plan to restore His relationship with mankind.

Moses leads the Israelites through the parted Red Sea as aquatic creatures playfully leap between towering walls of water

God told Noah to build a big boat, so he could hit “Reset” and start over. Noah’s family worked together with God and they we’re spared. Later Abraham was told that he would be the father of many nations. Joseph was able to interpret dreams and save his people from starvation. Moses was saved to rise up and deliver the people of Israel out from Egypt. King David was promised his heirs would always rule over Israel.

Mary and Joseph stand close, joyfully reflecting on their lineage and singing together “Emunah Faithfulness…”

Now Mary and Joseph walked across the land from Nazareth to Bethlehem carrying the promised heir of David, the Messiah or Anointed One to be born and grow the fruit of the spirit inside of Him. As the fruit ripens, He will be an example of how God wants us to live, so we can be blessed. Then he will send the Holy Spirit to share that fruit with all who choose abundant Life.

Coloring page of a peaceful caravan passing through an olive grove, with Mary and Joseph watching a young girl whisper to a dove beside her mother’s donkey-drawn cart.

Mary and Joseph see a young girl walking beside her mother’s cart. The girl is carrying a dove that appears to be injured. The girl is gently whispering to the bird.

Coloring page of a girl kneeling to whisper to a goat while a boy gently pulls it toward a stream.

The girl’s mother invites Mary and Joseph to join them for the evening meal.
The girl sees a boy struggling with his little goat. He’s trying to force it to drink, but it pulls away from him. The girl walks over and kneels next to the little goat. The bot says he’s impossible, but the girl whispers gently and the little goat calmly walks to the stream to drink his fill.

Coloring page of Mary, Joseph, and a mother watching as a dove flies away and a small goat curls in a girl’s lap.

As they sit together, the girl softly sings a gentle song to the frightened little bird.
The bird spreads it’s wings and begins to flutter them and takes off confidently into the evening sky. The little lamb curls into the girl’s lap and a sense of calmness settles over all of them.

Joseph calms Reuben, saying “This is not the way,” as a crowd watches outside a stone building

Mary’s neighbor, Reuben knew of her mission to give birth to the Messiah. He had walked with her and helped to guard her safety. When the final inn keeper told them there are no rooms left, he started to lose his temper, because he wanted to protect her. Joseph calmly told Reuben “This is not the way”. Reuben stated “I just wanted to protect her” Joseph then replied “Then protect her Peace.”

Reuben as a boy cries in remorse, holding his sister’s doll, while his sister looks in shock and his grandmother weeps over her broken vase

Reuben remembered a time, when his sister had borrowed his knife and when he could not find it, he lost his temper and threw her doll across the room. The doll hit grandma’s favorite vase and broke it. They were all shocked and very sad and this became a lesson to Reuben that he’d remember the sound of grandma’s vase breaking, every time he started to lose control.

Joseph wraps Mary in a blanket as they sit in a stable. Reuben stands guard outside while a dog, a lamb, and their donkey draw near. Stars twinkle in the clear night sky through the doorway.

Reuben thanked Joseph for helping to calm him and then took his post outside the manger to watch and protect.
